| gPort Serial adapters
Compatibility
The gPort, g4Port, CubePort and iPort adapters
provide standard Mac serial ports that are compatible with all Mac
serial devices. They support most Apple and third party serial and
localtalk printers, midi devices, as well as any other serial device
that works on a Mac.
The original gPort supports the Blue and White G3s, and G4s using
the PCI graphics motherboard. The newer g4Port supports the current
shipping models of G4 with an AGP video card. If you bought a G4
when they were first released, check the Apple web page describing
the models to decide which adapter you need.
The iPort is only compatible with Rev A and Rev B models, 233 Mhz
Bondi Blue iMacs. The iPort is NOT compatible with the newer Rev
C or Rev D, "flavored" iMacs.
The gPort, g4Port, CubePort and iPorts have been successfully tested
with the following devices:

using Localtalk
- Stylewriters including 1200, 1500, 2200,
2400, and 2500
- Other serial printers including HP Deskwriters,
Imagewriters, Imagewriter LQs, and Plotters
- All Midi interface devices
- All modems including ISDN modems
- Lab equipment with a serial interface
